Popular Photography Black and White Photography

Amazing photographs can be captured using almost any type of camera, and in any format. We still use film for some of our work, even though digital photography is the future of image making in the 21st Century. All kinds of popular photography, including black and white photography and color images can be captured vividly in both formats, leaving the creativity of the exposures up to the photographer.

Photography Skills Professional Photographer

Whether you are interested in hiring us to be your photographer, or you just interested in improving your photography skills, we can help you. There are no “secrets” to getting great images. Some of the best photographers in the industry have published entire books containing images that they have captured using only an iPhone (Chase Jarvis is our favorite).

Whether you are just getting the hang of adjusting the aperture, focus, and shutter speed of your digital SLR, or you are an aspiring professional photographer, we hope that you will find the resources in our website useful. We strongly believe that still photography is the heart of the image, and the ideas that our customers want to express to their clients. From there, things can (and should) go into motion using Adobe Flash and/or video to supplement the still shots.

Once you understand what a good exposure is, you can start becoming more creative—whether you are a photographer, or a business owner. Looking at creative still photos taken by professional photographers, you can learn what is possible, and from there you will develop your own ideas. In the cases of photographers, you will learn how to “see” using the lens, and if you are a business owner, or an advertiser, you will formulate ideas of what you want to see—or what you think your customers want to see.

Either way, our goal is to enhance your ability to see the choices that you have in picture making. Even though you might not understand exactly how the exposure trinity (ISO – Aperture – Shutter Speed) effect different styles of images, you will be able to see many different kinds of creative images, and point to the styles that you like.

Photographers look at a scene and immediately think of the different ways that their camera can record it. This is how professional photographers are able to earn a living. They are able to “see” things in people and landscapes that the untrained eye of a non-photographer might not see—and that is what separates a stunning image from a snapshot. We call this “working backwards through the image”. Pressing the shutter release is the result of a lot of thought and evaluation by the photographer. In a sense, the photographer is saying to image, “You are not going anywhere that my brain did not go ten minutes ago.” This type of professional execution comes from natural talent, and years of practice.

If you are considering a career in photography; have you taken an honest inventory and decided whether or not you have the time and inclination to put in that kind of work? The time and work that it will require to make great images consistently? If you are a business owner looking to fill your print media and web pages full of high quality images, have you considered the investment in time and equipment that it will take to get the results that hiring a professional photographer would yield?

No matter what your reason is for taking a more in-depth approach to exploring photography, we applaud you efforts. Photography is not just our passion, it is our lifestyle, and we endeavor to move the people and tell a unique story with each and every new image.

So let’s get started, and learn a little more about what it takes to create an exceptional image—and we will begin with the image maker of choice for most pros today the DSLR.
